Asisat Oshoala strikes again as Al Hilal return to winning ways in Saudi Arabia

Six-time African Player of the Year, Asisat Oshoala, was on target as Al Hilal defeated Eastern Flames 2–0 in Thursday’s Saudi Women’s Premier League clash.

Oshoala broke the deadlock in the 43rd minute, reacting sharply after Keikei parried Claudia Dabda’s powerful long-range effort. The Nigerian star was quickest to the rebound, calmly slotting home with her right foot to hand Al Hilal a deserved half-time lead.

Al Bandari Mobarak doubled the advantage in the 62nd minute with a composed finish from the left side of the box, capitalising on a perfectly weighted pass from Mohrah Mutlaq.

The goal extends Oshoala’s impressive scoring form, taking her tally to six goals and two assists in just seven league matches for Al Hilal.

The win also ends the club’s winless streak, their first victory since 2 October after suffering back-to-back defeats. Al Hilal stays second on the log, three points behind fierce rivals, Al Nassr.
