Chiamaka Nnadozie warns Super Falcons against underestimating Comoros

Nigeria's Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has warned Nigeria against underestimating Comoros despite securing a 2-0 victory in the first leg of their second-round qualifying tie for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

Second-half goals from Michelle Alozie and Uchenna Kanu gave Nigeria a two-goal advantage ahead of the return fixture. However, Nnadozie insists that the contest is far from over and that Comoros deserve respect.

Speaking after the match, the Nigeria international cautioned against judging a team’s quality based on the name of its country, highlighting the growing competitiveness of women’s football across Africa.

“Comoros are not a bad side. We all saw what happened at WAFCON. Football is not a game where you describe a team by the name of their country,” Nnadozie said.

Looking ahead to the second leg, the goalkeeper stressed that the Super Falcons must maintain their commitment and continue working hard, knowing that Comoros will be eager to respond after the first-leg defeat.

“We are not done yet. We will try all we can to keep the score going. It is not going to be an easy one, as the opposing team will try to get a point in the next game,” she added.

Nnadozie also urged her teammates to remain focused and sustain their work ethic as they prepare for the return encounter.

“We will keep our heads up and keep working hard,” she said.

With a 2-0 lead from the first leg, the Super Falcons have put themselves in a strong position, but Nnadozie’s comments underline the need for continued concentration and determination.

Nigeria will now look to build on their advantage in the return fixture and secure progression to the next round of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic qualifiers.
