Eid-el-Fitr: FG Declares March 31, April 1 Public Holidays
The Federal Government has declared Monday, March 31, and Tuesday, April 1, 2025, as public holidays in celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.
Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the announcement on behalf of the government in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.
Extending warm wishes to the Muslim faithful, the minister urged Nigerians to embrace the core values of Ramadan—self-discipline, compassion, generosity, and peace. He emphasised the need for love, forgiveness, and national unity, calling on citizens to use the festive period to pray for the country’s peace, stability, and prosperity.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo also encouraged Nigerians to celebrate responsibly and extend kindness to the less privileged, reinforcing the essence of Ramadan and Eid-el-Fitr as a time of reflection, gratitude, and community support.
