FCAAN tips Flamingos for World Cup glory in Morocco, hails Hakeem Busari
The Football Coaches Association of African Nations (FCAAN) has congratulated Nigeria U-17 women’s national team head coach, Busari Hakeem, after leading the Flamingos to victory at the recently concluded WAFU B Championship in Côte d’Ivoire.
Nigeria emerged champions of the sub-regional tournament in dominant fashion, winning all five matches to secure the maximum 15 points without suffering a defeat.
Reacting to the achievement, FCAAN Founder and President, Dr Terry Eguaoje, commended the Flamingos for their discipline and outstanding performance.
“The success recorded in Côte d’Ivoire where the team did not lose any match and picked the maximum 15 points is remarkable. It shows the level of preparation, tactical discipline and winning mentality Coach Busari has instilled in the team,” Dr Eguaoje said.
FCAAN Chief Executive Officer, Danny Nazzal, also praised the coach’s leadership and tactical ability.
“This victory is a testament to Coach Busari Hakeem's coaching savvy and leadership quality. He has proven himself as one of the finest youth coaches on the continent,” Nazzal stated.
FCAAN wished the Flamingos further success at the forthcoming FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco, expressing hope that the tournament will provide another memorable outing for Busari and his players.
The association noted that Nigeria’s best performance at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup was a third-place finish in India in 2022.
It expressed optimism that Busari and his team can surpass that achievement by going all the way to lift the trophy in Morocco.
