Nigeria U-17 Women’s National Team captain Harmony Chidi says the Flamingos are determined to extend their winning run when they take on hosts Côte d’Ivoire in their fourth match of the 2026 WAFU B U-17 Girls Cup.

 The Flamingos currently sit at the top of the standings after recording three consecutive victories, and Chidi says the team’s priority is to remain disciplined and execute head coach Hakeem Busari’s instructions.

 “For the game, all we just need to do is follow the coach’s instructions and direction,” Chidi said.

 Despite Nigeria’s impressive start to the tournament, the captain stressed that the team is not taking any opponent for granted.

 “We are not looking down on any team or any country. Our mindset here is just to win every game, no matter who our opponents may be,” she added.

 Chidi also highlighted the positive atmosphere within the Nigerian camp, saying the players remain confident and united ahead of the important clash with the hosts.

 “For the players in camp, the team spirit is still very high and very valid. For this game, as we know, this is also like a preparation ground for us ahead of the World Cup,” she stated.

 With their unbeaten start intact, the Flamingos will look to maintain their momentum against Côte d’Ivoire while continuing their preparations for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
