Ghana's Black Sharks to arrive Thursday ahead of BSAFCON Qualifiers against Sand Eagles

Ghana’s Black Sharks are expected to arrive in Nigeria on Thursday ahead of their 2026 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final-round, first-leg qualifying clash with the Sand Eagles.

The Ghanaian delegation will proceed directly to Kaduna upon arrival, where they will face Nigeria in the first leg at the Murtala Muhammed Square Beach Pitch on Saturday.

The crucial encounter is scheduled to kick off at 4pm.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Moroccan official Dris Lamghaidar as the referee for the match. His compatriots Azz-Eddine Essalhi and Nabil Elmaliki will serve as referees two and three respectively.

Omar Kebbeh of The Gambia has been named the reserve assistant referee, while Khiba Herbert Mohoanyane of Lesotho will serve as the match commissioner.

The Sand Eagles will be looking to secure a positive result at home before travelling to Ghana for the second leg as both teams battle for a place at the 2026 Beach Soccer AFCON.
