Gift Monday wins Player of the month award
Nigeria's Super Falcons and UDG Tenerife forward, Gift Monday, has been named the February Player of the Month in Spain
Monday has been in outstanding form, netting 10 goals in 19 matches to help Tenerife climb to sixth place in the league.
The 23-year-old, currently third in the league’s scoring chart, beat competition from Real Madrid’s Alba Redondo, Barcelona’s Caroline Hansen, Deportivo’s Ainhoa Marin, Bilbao’s Ane Azkona, Granada’s Ari Mingueza, and Eibar’s Elba Verges to clinch the award.
She has been a key player with Costa Adeje Tenerife since joining from Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership side, FC Robo Queens.
Her success followed Rasheedat Ajibade and Edna Imade winning the same award in previous months.
