Gift Orban's fast start sparks Galatasaray transfer suggestion
Gift Orban’s impressive start to the season has prompted Turkish commentator Oğuz Altay to suggest that Galatasaray should consider signing the Nigerian forward from Amedspor.
Altay made the proposal while discussing Galatasaray’s need for another attacking option to complement Victor Osimhen.
Orban joined Amedspor from Hoffenheim on a season-long loan in July, with the agreement including a purchase option that could become mandatory if certain conditions are met.
The Turkish commentator believes Orban could form an effective partnership with Osimhen and urged Galatasaray to look no further than the 24-year-old when considering another striker.
“Let me tell you something. You don't need to look too hard. Get Orban from Amedspor as a second striker alongside Osimhen. I really like Deniz Gül, that's a separate matter, but you'll create an incredible game,” Altay said, as quoted by Habersarikirmizi.
Altay also highlighted the qualities that have helped Orban make an immediate impact in the Turkish top flight.
He praised the forward’s pace, dribbling ability and versatility in front of goal, while also pointing to his contribution when defending as part of the team.
“He scored all kinds of goals. He's very fast, he dribbles past defenders, he scores all kinds of goals. He scores with volleys, headers, long-range shots, placed shots, and he helps with team defence. He's a good player,” he added.
Orban’s performances for Amedspor have provided plenty of evidence for the praise.
The 24-year-old has scored seven goals and provided two assists in six league appearances this season, giving him nine goal contributions in his opening six matches.
