Leicester City monitoring Wrexham's Arthur Okonkwo
Leicester City are reportedly showing interest in a move for Arthur Okonkwo, the Wrexham goalkeeper, as the Championship side evaluates options to reinforce its goalkeeping department.
The 24-year-old, born in London and standing at 1.98m, is currently valued at around €5.00m on Transfermarkt. Reports suggest Leicester are keeping close tabs on his situation, although any potential transfer is still considered speculative, with no formal negotiations or fee agreement confirmed.
Okonkwo, who currently wears the No. 1 shirt for Wrexham A.F.C., does not have a publicly disclosed contract expiry date. That lack of clarity has fuelled speculation that he could become available on favourable terms, particularly if his deal is nearing its end or already concluded.
Since joining Wrexham, Okonkwo has established himself as a key figure during the club’s rapid rise through the divisions and into the Championship. He has earned a reputation as a dependable presence between the posts, with recent performances—including a tight league fixture on 21 June 2026—highlighting his shot-stopping ability at a competitive level.
Eligible to represent both Nigeria and England, Okonkwo is a right-footed goalkeeper who previously spent time at higher-tier clubs earlier in his career before settling into a starting role at Wrexham. His steady development has been reflected in his rising market valuation and growing interest from clubs at Championship level.
With Leicester City also competing in the Championship and targeting promotion, a move to the King Power Stadium would represent a significant step in Okonkwo’s career. If the reported interest develops into a formal approach, he could further enhance his reputation as one of the more promising goalkeepers outside the Premier League.
