Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has approved two buses for Shooting Stars following the club’s impressive 1-0 victory over Tunisian side CS Sfaxien in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The governor’s gesture is aimed at strengthening the Oluyole Warriors’ logistics as they continue their return to continental football after a 27-year absence.

The two vehicles approved for the club are a 32-seater bus and an 18-seater bus, according to the Oyo State Government.

The development comes just days after Shooting Stars secured a crucial first-leg advantage over CS Sfaxien in their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary-round tie.

A statement by the Oyo State Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, said the approval reflected the state government’s commitment to supporting the club as it represents Oyo State on the continental stage.

Shooting Stars produced a disciplined performance to edge the Tunisian giants 1-0 in the first leg, giving themselves an important advantage ahead of the return fixture.

The club’s continental campaign has generated renewed excitement among supporters, particularly following its return to CAF competition after more than two decades away.

Governor Makinde has continued to back the club as part of efforts to reposition Shooting Stars and restore its status as one of Nigeria’s leading football institutions.

The provision of the buses is expected to ease the club’s transportation challenges and provide improved logistical support for both domestic and continental engagements.

Shooting Stars will now focus on the second leg against CS Sfaxien, where they will aim to protect their narrow advantage and secure progression to the next stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
