NFF Announces CAF B Refresher, CAF A-License Coaching Courses
The Nigeria Football Federation has concluded plans to organise a CAF B-License refresher programme alongside a comprehensive CAF A-License coaching course as part of efforts to strengthen coaching development across the country.
According to the NFF Technical Director, Augustine Eguavoen, the initiative aligns with the federation’s broader strategy to improve the capacity of coaches operating within Nigerian football.
“This is part of the NFF’s strategic effort to build the capacity of coaches across the country,” Eguavoen stated.
The CAF B-License refresher course is scheduled to hold from June 20 to June 24, 2026, while the CAF A-License programme will run across six modules between August 2, 2026 and February 7, 2027.
Nigeria was recently readmitted into the CAF A-License convention after spending nine years outside the programme framework, making the upcoming course a significant milestone for coaching education in the country.
To qualify for participation, applicants must be active elite-level coaches working with national teams, NPFL, NNL, NWFL or NLO clubs. Interested candidates are also required to possess a CAF B diploma, demonstrate proficiency in English language communication, and be computer literate with access to a laptop or tablet throughout the course duration.
Applicants must additionally provide a medical certificate confirming physical and mental fitness, alongside a curriculum vitae and reference letter.
The federation disclosed that only 25 candidates will be selected for the CAF A-License programme following pre-assessment tests and the CAF B refresher exercise. Successful candidates will subsequently receive access to the CAF CMS platform to commence the licensing process.
The pre-course assessment for both the CAF B refresher and CAF A-License will evaluate participants in game analysis, reading and writing, presentation skills, and computer literacy through virtual and in-person sessions scheduled between June 1 and June 23, 2026.
For the financial requirements, Nigerian applicants for the CAF A-License course are expected to pay N3 million, while foreign applicants will pay $3,000 each. The CAF B refresher course fee for Nigerian coaches has been fixed at N700,000.
The application deadline for the CAF A-License course is May 31, 2026.
