NFF Appoints Folashade Falokun as Super Falcons Team Coordinator
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has appointed experienced sports administrator Mrs. Folashade Falokun as the new Team Coordinator of Nigeria’s senior women’s national team, the Super Falcons.
The appointment is part of the Federation’s efforts to strengthen the administrative structure around the nine-time African champions as they prepare for major continental and international assignments.
Falokun is a seasoned sports administrator with years of experience in sports management and administration.
Before her appointment by the NFF, she served in various administrative capacities within the Lagos State sports ecosystem, earning recognition for her professionalism, commitment to athlete welfare, and effective team management. Her appointment has been widely welcomed by stakeholders in Nigerian sports.
As Team Coordinator, she will oversee the Super Falcons’ day-to-day administrative and logistical operations, serving as a key link between the players, coaching crew, the Nigeria Football Federation and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth running of team activities.
Among the first to congratulate Falokun was the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC), which described her appointment as a well-deserved recognition of her dedication to sports administration.
In a congratulatory message, the Commission stated: “Congratulations Mrs. Folashade Falokun on your appointment as Team Coordinator of the Super Falcons. May this well-deserved appointment usher in greater accomplishments as you continue to serve Nigerian sports with distinction.”
Falokun’s appointment comes at a crucial period for the Super Falcons as the team intensify preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, where Nigeria will be aiming to successfully defend the continental title won in 2024.
Her first assignment in the role will be to coordinate the team’s preparations and logistics for the tournament, working closely with the technical crew as the Super Falcons pursue a record-extending 11th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations crown.
