NIS Uyo students begin final examination after eight weeks of training

Students of the National Institute for Sports (NIS), Uyo Centre, have commenced their final examinations after eight weeks of intensive learning, practical sessions and preparation under the Institute’s Basic Programme.

The examinations mark a significant stage in the academic and professional development of the students, who have spent the past eight weeks acquiring knowledge and practical skills in sports coaching and development.

The Basic Programme is part of the NIS’ efforts to provide accessible professional training opportunities for aspiring coaches and sports practitioners across Nigeria.

Through programmes such as this, the Institute continues to strengthen the human resources needed for effective sports development at both grassroots and professional levels.

As the students begin their examinations, the NIS has encouraged them to approach the exercise with confidence, discipline and a commitment to demonstrating the knowledge and skills acquired during the programme.

Successful completion of the programme will represent another important milestone in their journey towards becoming qualified sports professionals.

The commencement of the examinations also highlights the Institute’s broader commitment to expanding professional coaching opportunities across the country. Through programmes such as the CAF D Licence Coaching Course, the NIS continues to create pathways for aspiring coaches and sports enthusiasts to acquire relevant training and develop careers in sports.

The Institute remains committed to producing well-trained and competent coaches capable of contributing to the discovery and development of sporting talents and, ultimately, the growth of Nigerian sports.
