Shooting Stars Sports Club returned to winning ways in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) with a convincing 3-1 victory over Ranchers Bees on Friday.

The Oluyole Warriors secured the three points through goals from Desmond Ojietefian, Damilola Akinola and Qamar Adegoke to end their winless run.

Shooting Stars took the lead in the 14th minute when Ojietefian found the back of the net, giving the home side an early advantage.

Ranchers Bees responded in the 38th minute as Isah Ndala Aliyu restored parity, raising hopes of a positive result for the visitors.

However, Shooting Stars regained the lead deep into first-half stoppage time through Akinola, who scored in the 45+3rd minute to send his team into the break ahead.

Ranchers Bees had an opportunity to draw level again in the 52nd minute, but goalkeeper Tofa kept his side in the contest by saving Sodiq Ibrahim’s penalty.

The hosts eventually strengthened their advantage in the 71st minute when Qamar Adegoke scored the third goal to seal a 3-1 victory.

The result gives Shooting Stars a much-needed boost as they look to build momentum in the NPFL following their recent struggles.
