Niger Tornadoes to transform feeders team into talent development
The Sporting Director of Niger Tornadoes FC, Mr. Mojeed Ibrahim, has disclosed that the club has developed a strategic roadmap aimed at discovering, nurturing and exporting talented young players through the Niger Tornadoes Feeder Team as part of efforts to generate sustainable revenue for the club and Niger State.
Speaking during a training session at the Fomwan Football Field in the presence of the Vice Chairman of the Management Committee, Alhaji Usman Garba, and members of the technical crew led by Coach Mohammed Ibrahim (Yellow), Mr. Ibrahim said the initiative forms a key part of the vision of the Chairman of the Management Committee, Dr. Abubakar Abdullahi Kuso.
According to him, the Chairman is committed to repositioning the club by strengthening the feeder team to serve as a talent development hub capable of producing quality players for the senior team while creating opportunities for player transfers through partnerships with foreign clubs and football scouts.
Responding, the Head Coach of the Feeder Team, Mohammed Ibrahim, expressed delight with the new direction of the club, assuring the management that the technical crew is fully committed to achieving the set objectives.
He added that the feeder team would maintain high standards in player recruitment, stressing that only players between the ages of 17 and 19 who meet the required physical and technical criteria would be considered.
The Niger Tornadoes Feeder Team is currently preparing for the maiden edition of the Bago/313 Prosperity Unity Cup.
