Odion Musa shines at Masters Championship, wins gold and bronze in Abuja
Liberty TV sports anchorman, Comrade Odion Musa, delivered an impressive performance at the recently concluded Nigerian Athletics Masters Championship in Abuja, clinching one gold and one bronze medal.
Competing against athletes representing both military and civilian organisations—including the Nigeria Army, Navy, Air Force, Immigration, and various media houses—Musa stood out in the 110m Hurdles M35 category, where he surged ahead of the field to claim gold.
He further showcased his athletic range in the 4×100m relay final, playing a key role in securing a bronze medal for his team.
Beyond track and field, Musa is widely recognized as a versatile sports enthusiast. He serves as captain of the NUJ football team, is an active table tennis player, and remains a committed member of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN).
His influence extends beyond athletics and journalism, as he is also a passionate advocate for integrity in sports. Musa currently holds the position of Vice-Chairman of the Sports Integrity Foundation.
The maiden edition of the championship featured notable former Nigerian champions such as Mike Monye, alongside international athletes from Poland and other accomplished competitors.
