Rasheedat Ajibade undergoes successful surgery after fibula fracture

Nigeria captain Rasheedat Ajibade has successfully undergone surgery following a fractured fibula injury sustained during Nigeria’s 7-0 victory over Comoros in the second leg of the 2028 Olympic Games qualifiers.

The Nigerian international suffered the injury during the emphatic win, which secured the Super Falcons’ progression to the next round of the African qualifying series.

Following the successful operation, Ajibade is set to begin her rehabilitation at the medical centre of Paris Saint-Germain as she embarks on the recovery process.

The injury represents a setback for the influential forward, who plays a key role in the Super Falcons’ attack and leadership.

Best wishes have been extended to the Nigerian captain for a speedy recovery, with hopes that she will return to the pitch stronger and resume her football career after completing her rehabilitation.
