Shooting Stars part ways with Aweroro, Technical Crew ahead of CAF campaign

Shooting Stars have parted ways with Head Coach Nurudeen Aweroro, Team Manager Tammy Tamuno and Assistant Coach Shakiru Lawal by mutual agreement, with immediate effect.

The Ibadan based Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side announced the development as the club begins preparations for its upcoming CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

According to a statement by the club, the decision followed discussions with the affected members of the technical team, with both parties agreeing to end their respective contracts amicably.

Shooting Stars expressed appreciation to Aweroro, Tamuno and Lawal for their commitment, professionalism and contributions throughout their time at the club.

The club particularly credited the trio for their role in guiding the Oluyole Warriors to a third-place finish in the 2025/26 NPFL season, a result that earned the team a ticket to represent Nigeria in continental competition.

“We thank them immensely for their service and wish them all the very best in their future endeavours and continued success in their careers,” the club stated.

Pending the appointment of a substantive head coach, Shooting Stars said the remaining members of the coaching staff have been directed to take charge of the Technical Department.

The club is expected to announce further developments regarding the appointment of a new head coach in due course, as preparations intensify for its return to continental football.
