Nigeria's senior men's national team have arrived in Bissau ahead of Tuesday’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying clash against Guinea-Bissau, following their impressive 2-1 comeback victory over Madagascar in their opening Group L fixture.

 The Super Eagles team touched down at the Aeroporto Internacional Osvaldo Vieira on Sunday evening as preparations intensified for their second qualifying assignment.

 The trip came less than 48 hours after the Super Eagles secured all three points against Madagascar at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

 Nigeria fell behind when Ehsan Kari gave Madagascar the lead, but debutant George Ilenikhena restored parity in first-half stoppage time.

 Moses Usor then completed the comeback in the 65th minute, handing Eric Chelle’s side a winning start to their qualifying campaign.

 Guinea-Bissau will present another stern test, with the Djurtus also beginning their campaign with a victory.

 They defeated Tanzania 2-0 away from home, as Franculino Djú opened the scoring in the first half before Mama Baldé added a second after the break.

 The result leaves Guinea-Bissau top of Group L on goal difference, with Nigeria also sitting on three points.

 Tanzania, as one of the co-hosts of the 2027 AFCON, are already guaranteed a place at the tournament. Nigeria, Guinea-Bissau and Madagascar will therefore battle for the qualifying spot available to the highest-ranked non-host nation in the group.

 Tuesday’s encounter will take place at the Estádio Nacional 24 de Setembro in Bissau, with kick-off scheduled for 5pm Nigerian time.
