Wikki Tourists Defender Kabiru Mohammed Dies in Auto Crash

Wikki Tourists FC has announced the death of its defender, Kabiru Mohammed, following a fatal auto crash along the Zaria–Gusau road.

The Nigeria National League side confirmed the tragic development in a statement posted on its official Facebook page on Thursday.

“The club is deeply saddened to announce the tragic death of Mohammed following a fatal accident along the Zaria–Gusau road,” the statement read.

According to the club, Mohammed joined Wikki Tourists from Lobi Stars FC during the ongoing 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League season and quickly became an important figure in the team’s defensive setup.

The club described the late defender as a committed and disciplined professional who was admired for his passion and dedication to football.

Wikki Tourists further disclosed that Mohammed made his final appearance for the club during the President Federation Cup encounter against Jigawa Golden Stars Junior Team at the Nasarawa Stadium, Kofar Doka, Zaria, on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

“The Management, Technical Crew, Players and supporters of Wikki Tourists FC extend heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and the entire football community over this painful loss,” the club added.

The Bauchi State-owned club also noted that the defender’s contributions and commitment to the team would always be remembered by teammates, officials and supporters.

The death of Mohammed has thrown the Nigerian football community into mourning, with tributes expected from clubs, players and football stakeholders across the country.
