2026 World Cup Qualifiers Playoffs: Super Eagles to face Gabon in Rabat
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will face Gabon in the African Qualifiers of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Inter-Continental Play-off Tournament, scheduled to take place in Rabat, Morocco.
Following Nigeria’s qualification earlier this month, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has now confirmed the venues and kick-off times for the mini-tournament, which will run from November 13 to 16, 2025. The competition will feature four nations, Nigeria, Gabon, Cameroon, and the Democratic Republic of Congo battling for a place in the next stage.
According to CAF, “The semi-finals will be played on Thursday, 13 November, at El Barid Stadium and Prince Moulay El Hassan Sports Complex. A draw will be held on Thursday, 30 October 2025, to determine the venue for each match.”
Nigeria’s semifinal clash with Gabon will kick off at 17:00 local time (same as Nigerian time), while the second semifinal between Cameroon and DR Congo will take place at 20:00 local time. The winners will meet in the final on Sunday, 16 November 2025, at the Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan Stadium, also at 20:00 local time.
The eventual champion of the Rabat playoffs will advance to the FIFA Intercontinental Play-Off Tournament in March 2026, the final hurdle to secure Africa’s 10th and last ticket to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
