21 Days to AACT 2026: Julius Fadairo assures African Golfers of course readiness

The Technical Director of the 2026 All Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT), Julius Fadairo, has assured participating teams of adequate technical preparations for the continental women’s golf championship, with particular attention to course readiness and caddie services.

Fadairo gave the assurance following an inspection of the course at the IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja, expressing satisfaction with the work carried out ahead of the tournament.

He said the technical team was focused on ensuring suitable playing conditions and a smooth competition experience for golfers expected from across Africa.

According to the Technical Director, preparations extend beyond the course itself to include the readiness of caddies, whose support will be important to players throughout the championship.

The arrangements are intended to provide golfers with the assistance they need to navigate the course and compete in a well-organised environment.

Fadairo stressed that attention to technical and operational details would remain central to delivering a successful tournament.

The assurance comes as Nigeria intensifies preparations to host the six-day championship, which is scheduled to run from November 2 to 7, 2026, at the IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja.

The tournament is expected to bring together women golfers representing countries from across the continent to compete for the prestigious All Africa Challenge Trophy.

Nigeria will host the championship for the third time, having previously staged the event in 1996 at Ikoyi Club 1938 in Lagos and in 2010 at the IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja.

The 2026 edition will therefore provide another opportunity for Nigeria to showcase its capacity to host a major event on the African golfing calendar.

With the course inspection completed and preparations covering caddie services and the overall playing environment, the organisers are working towards delivering a technically sound and memorable championship.

As the countdown continues, the focus remains on ensuring that participating teams arrive to find a competition environment capable of meeting the demands of elite women’s golf.
