AACT 2026: Grace Ihonvbepe promises visitors a 100% Nigerian experience
With 23 days to the 2026 All Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT), Nigeria is preparing to offer visiting golfers, officials and guests an experience that goes beyond the golf course, showcasing the country’s rich culture, cuisine, tourism and hospitality.
Grace Ihonvbере, former Lady Captain of the IBB International Golf and Country Club, Abuja, a member of the club’s Board of Trustees and Grand Patron of the Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria (LGAN), has assured visitors of an authentic Nigerian experience during the continental women’s team golf championship.
According to Ihonvbере, the tournament presents an opportunity to showcase Nigeria’s identity, cultural diversity and hospitality while creating lasting memories for participants from across Africa.
From traditional Nigerian delicacies and vibrant cultural expressions to the warmth of its people and the attractions of Abuja, visitors will have opportunities to experience the country beyond the fairways.
The championship is also expected to promote cultural exchange, strengthen relationships among participating nations and demonstrate Nigeria’s capacity to combine competitive golf with a memorable visitor experience.
Nigeria will host the AACT for the third time, having previously staged the championship in 1996 at Ikoyi Club 1938 in Lagos and in 2010 at the IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja.
The 2026 edition is scheduled to take place from November 2 to 7 at the IBB International Golf and Country Club, Abuja, bringing together women golfers from across the continent.
For Ihonvbере, the event represents an opportunity to highlight the many qualities that make Nigeria distinctive, with golf providing a platform to unite sport, culture and hospitality.
With preparations continuing, the message is clear: Nigeria is ready to welcome Africa and provide visitors with an experience that reflects the country’s diversity, warmth and national pride.
