AFCON Morocco 2025: A Continental Road Adventure Showcasing Africa’s Football Spirit
The countdown to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations is already energizing the continent, and from Cotonou, a remarkable movement has begun. A diverse team of more than 40 journalists, influencers, and digital creators has hit the road on a groundbreaking expedition that will link over ten African capitals on the way to Morocco, host of AFCON 2025.
This ambitious journey, branded “Destination Morocco 2025 – Land of Football,” merges travel, culture, media innovation, and community engagement. The caravan’s route stretches across West Africa — through Togo, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Senegal and Mauritania — before heading north toward Morocco, where preparations are in full swing ahead of the tournament scheduled for December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026.
A Creative Collective Taking Football Stories to the Streets
Composed of young storytellers, reporters, photographers and filmmakers from Africa and France, the team is on a mission to capture African football from the ground up.
Their daily output — short videos, photo essays, and behind-the-scenes features — brings audiences closer to the cultures, the fans, and the emotional energy that fuel the African game. With every stop, they spotlight local traditions, community spaces, and the footballing identities that make each country unique.
By travelling overland, the caravan stays connected to ordinary people: market traders, street footballers, supporters’ groups, and families whose lives revolve around the sport.
A Journey Built on Connection and Culture
More than a road trip, the initiative is a celebration of African unity. Each border crossed opens a new window into the continent’s football heritage — its legends, its unforgettable matches, its grassroots pitches, and the loyal fan bases that keep national colours flying high.
For the first time, this rich cultural footprint is being recorded and shared in real time, allowing millions of followers to experience the buildup to AFCON through the eyes of those on the road.
Morocco Awaits: A Continental Meeting Point
The final stop in Rabat will mark the symbolic gathering of an entire continent ahead of its premier football festival. Morocco’s cutting-edge infrastructure, progressive sporting vision, and long-term investment in football development have positioned it as a leading force in African sport.
The “Route of the AFCON” is already shaping a historic pre-tournament atmosphere — one that promises to unite Africa and set the stage for an electrifying AFCON 2025.
