Athletic Bilbao winger Álvaro Djaló says Guinea-Bissau’s Wild Dogs are ready to face three-time African champions Nigeria in Tuesday’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying Matchday 2 clash.

 Speaking ahead of the Group L encounter at the 24 de Setembro Stadium in Bissau, Djaló, in an interview with Guinean newspaper _O Democrata GB_, acknowledged the quality within the Nigerian squad but insisted that Guinea-Bissau are highly motivated and confident ahead of the fixture.

 The winger said the Wild Dogs are targeting maximum points as they continue their qualification campaign.

 “We hope to win the three points because our goal is to win every game,” Djaló said.

 “We are very confident and I feel the team is very motivated for this match against Nigeria.”

 Despite Guinea-Bissau’s confidence, the La Liga attacker recognised the threat posed by the Super Eagles, stressing that his team must remain fully focused against a Nigerian side blessed with considerable individual talent.

 Both teams began their qualifying campaigns with victories and head into Tuesday’s encounter level at the top of Group L.

 Guinea-Bissau opened their campaign with an impressive away victory over co-hosts Tanzania, while Nigeria also secured three points in their opening fixture.

 With both sides looking to maintain their winning starts, Tuesday’s clash in Bissau promises to be a keenly contested battle for early control of the group.
