Swedish Allsvenskan club Djurgården have invited two promising Nigerian youngsters from Ikonnekt Football Academy for trials as they look to earn contracts with the Stockholm-based side.

 According to Djurgården’s official website, Usman Emmanuel Inalegwu and Longji Aaron trained with the club on Monday as part of their assessment for a potential move to Sweden.

 Inalegwu is a left-footed central defender, while Aaron plays as a striker. Both youngsters will be hoping to impress the club’s coaching staff and secure permanent contracts.

 Djurgården strengthened their attacking options during the summer transfer window with the signing of Nigerian forward Abdul Abdulmalik from English National League side Boreham Wood.

 The Swedish club reportedly paid more than £1.5 million, approximately N2.64 billion, for the winger, making Abdulmalik the most expensive player ever sold by a fifth-tier English club.

 Djurgården have previously featured several Nigerian players, including Haruna Garba, Prince Ikpe Ekong and Kennedy Igboananike.

 After 22 matches in the Swedish top flight, Djurgården occupy third position in the standings with 41 points, 10 points behind league leaders IK Sirius.
