Bayelsa Queens strengthen squad with Ojiyovwi and Prisca Nwachukwu ahead of new season

NWFL Premiership champions Bayelsa Queens FC have bolstered their squad with the signing of Ojiyovwi Keseina Tessy and Nwachukwu Prisca ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Forward Ojiyovwi Tessy joins the Prosperity Girls from Nasarawa Amazons, while dynamic midfielder Nwachukwu Prisca arrives from Imo Strikers, following an impressive loan stint with Heartland Ladies during the 2024/25 campaign.

Nwachukwu, who was part of Nigeria’s U-20 women’s team in their 5–0 aggregate victory over Rwanda in the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers, brings both international experience and youthful energy to the Bayelsa Queens’ midfield setup.

As the champions prepare for the new NWFL Premiership season, Bayelsa Queens are determined to defend their title and reclaim continental dominance. The team will be seeking redemption after narrowly missing out on a CAF Women’s Champions League spot, following a dramatic 8–7 penalty shootout defeat to ASEC Mimosas in the WAFU-B final earlier this year.
