Beach Soccer: Super Sand Eagles fall again to Senegal in Kaduna friendly

Nigeria’s Beach Soccer national team, the Super Sand Eagles, suffered another 6-4 defeat to African champions Senegal in their second friendly match at Murtala Muhammed Square, Kaduna, on Monday.

Senegal had also recorded a 6-4 victory in the first leg on Saturday, with Nigeria unable to overturn the scoreline in the return fixture.

Hassan Abdullahi, Hamza Manga, Sodiq Umar and Hassan Abubakar scored for the Super Sand Eagles.

For Senegal, Libasse Mbaye, Mamadou Sylla, Assane Ba, Mandione Laye Diagne and goalkeeper Oussaynou Faye were on target, while Nigeria’s Godspower Igudia also scored an own goal.

The two-match series provided valuable preparation for Nigeria ahead of their Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (BSAFCON) qualifying clash against Ghana next Saturday.

Despite the back-to-back defeats, the friendlies offered the Super Sand Eagles an opportunity to fine-tune their preparations before the crucial qualifiers.
