Boboye to lead Edo Queens at WAFU-B Women's Champions League
Bendel Insurance technical adviser Kennedy Boboye is set to take charge of Nigeria Women’s Football League champions Edo Queens on an interim basis at the 2026 WAFU B Women’s Champions League qualifiers in Burkina Faso.
The former Nigeria international will temporarily oversee the team in the absence of substantive head coach Moses Aduku, who is currently away on national duty with the Nigeria U-20 Women’s team.
Boboye, who has extensive experience in the Nigerian top-flight, is expected to bring his coaching expertise and knowledge to Edo Queens as they begin their campaign for continental success.
Edo Queens have been drawn in Group B alongside ASEC Mimosas of Côte d’Ivoire, Ampem Darkoa FC of Ghana and AS Garde Nationale du Niger.
The Nigerian champions will be aiming to finish strongly in the regional qualifiers, with the eventual winner earning a place in the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League later this year.
