Former Aso Rock Chaplain and Founder of the All Christian Fellowship Mission, Maitama, Abuja, Rev. Dr. William Uzochukwu Okoye, will be laid to rest in his hometown of Amatu Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State, on October 8, 2026.

 The late cleric, who served as Chaplain of the Aso Villa Chapel during the administrations of former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, will be honoured with a Night of Tributes at the National Christian Centre, Abuja, on October 2, 2026, at 4 p.m.

 The National Christian Centre was constructed by the Federal Government during the period when Rev. Okoye served as Aso Villa Chaplain.

 Deputy General Overseer of the All Christian Fellowship Mission, Rev. Godwin Tsee, announced the burial arrangements on behalf of the Okoye family and the Christian Fellowship Mission.

 According to Rev. Tsee, a Service of Songs will also be held at the church premises in Maitama, Abuja, on September 30 at 4 p.m.

 Rev. Dr. Okoye, a former Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) in the Federal Capital Territory for eight years, died at the National Hospital, Abuja, on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, after a brief illness.

 Born in Anambra State, Rev. Okoye began his education at St. Mary's Practicing School, Nwagu, in Anaocha Local Government Area. His pursuit of secondary education at St. Peter's College, Achina, in Aguata Local Government Area, was interrupted in 1967 following the outbreak of the Nigerian Civil War.

 He later travelled to the United States, where he studied Theology at the Morris Cerullo World Evangelism School of Ministry in San Diego, California, in 1981.

 Throughout his ministry, the late cleric was widely known for his service to the Christian community and his impact on the lives of many people across Nigeria.

 Rev. Dr. Okoye is survived by his wife, six children and nine grandchildren, including Mr. Victor Okoye, a journalist with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
