Charlton lead Leicester in race for Arthur Okonkwo
Wrexham are reportedly prepared to part ways with Nigerian goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo this summer, with Championship clubs Charlton Athletic and Leicester City emerging as potential destination.
Charlton have moved ahead in their pursuit of the Nigerian as they seek to reinforce their goalkeeping department before the new season.
Leicester City have also registered their interest and made enquiries about Okonkwo’s situation at Wrexham. However, the goalkeeper is understood to favour a move to Charlton at this stage.
Okonkwo has continued to build his reputation in the English football system after establishing himself as a reliable goalkeeper during his time at Wrexham.
With the Welsh club now open to his departure, the Nigerian could be heading for another chapter in his career, with Charlton currently appearing to have the advantage in the race for his signature.
