Super Eagles set for European tests against Poland and Portugal

Nigeria’s Super Eagles are lining up a high-profile double-header in Europe this June, with international friendlies confirmed against Poland and Portugal as preparations intensify ahead of a packed football calendar.

Buoyed by a recent victory over World Cup-bound Iran and a credible draw against fellow finalists Jordan in Antalya, Turkey, the three-time African champions appear to be building momentum at just the right time.

According to NFF’s FIFA Match Agent, Jairo Pachon of Eurodata Sport, the Eagles will first face Poland on June 3 at the iconic PGE Narodowy Stadium in Warsaw. A week later, on June 10, they will take on Portugal on home soil, with the venue for that clash expected to be announced soon.

The encounter with Portugal’s Seleção das Quinas carries added significance, serving as the European side’s final tune-up before they depart for the FIFA World Cup finals set to be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

For Nigeria, the fixtures offer a valuable opportunity to test their strength against top-tier opposition and fine-tune strategies ahead of major competitions.

Before the June engagements, the Super Eagles will also return to London to defend their Unity Cup title, with the tournament scheduled to run from May 26 to 30 another key step in shaping the squad’s competitive edge.
