Chioma Okafor makes history with third NCAA All-America honour
Super Falcons forward Chioma Okafor has etched her name into University of Connecticut (UConn) Huskies history, earning a Third Team NCAA All-American selection for the third time, a feat achieved by just six players in the program’s storied history.
Widely regarded as one of the nation’s standout collegiate talents, Okafor caps off her senior season in elite fashion. She led the Huskies with eight goals and one assist, earning spots on both the First Team All-BIG EAST and the United Coaches First Team All-East Region.
Across her UConn journey from 2022 to 2025, Okafor delivered consistent excellence. She featured in 57 matches, scoring 30 goals and providing five assists, cementing herself as one of the most dangerous forwards to ever wear the Huskies jersey.
Her impact, however, wasn’t limited to the U.S. college scene. Fresh off winning the 2024 WAFCON with Nigeria’s Super Falcons, Okafor brought championship pedigree and attacking sharpness that repeatedly unsettled defenders and shaped UConn’s offensive identity.
With her latest All-American nod, Okafor joins a select group of UConn legends who have earned multiple national honours, further solidifying her place among the program’s greats.
Now, with her college career complete and the January transfer window approaching, attention is shifting to her next move. Scouts across the globe are watching closely. Whether she continues in the NWSL or heads to a major European club, Okafor’s next chapter promises to be as exciting as the one she just closed.
