Elder Stateman Edwin Clark passes away at 97
Former Federal Commissioner for Information and prominent South-South leader, Edwin Clark, has passed away at the age of 97.
According to a statement signed by Prof. C. C. Clark on behalf of the family, the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) leader died on Monday night.
“The Clark-Fuludu Bekederemo family of Kiagbodo Town, Delta State, wishes to announce the passing of Chief (Dr.) Sen. Edwin Kiagbodo Clark OFR, CON on Monday, 17th February 2025. The family appreciates your prayers at this time. Other details will be announced later,” the statement read.
His passing comes just days after the death of Afenifere leader Ayo Adebanjo, who was 96.
The Ijaw leader worked with the administration of the military Governor, Samuel Ogbemudia between 1966 and 1975.
He was a member of an advisory committee to the military Governor of Mid-western region, David Ejoor.
Clark was appointed a Federal Commissioner of Information in 1975.
