Kaduna to Host Second Phase of Nigeria Beach Soccer League

The ancient city of Kaduna will host the second phase of the 2026 Nigeria Beach Soccer League from May 29 to 31 at the Murtala Muhammed Square during the Sallah celebrations.

The three-day tournament will feature seven clubs competing for crucial points as the race for qualification to the Super Four finals intensifies.

Teams expected to participate in the Kaduna phase include Kada BSC, Kebbi Fishers BSC, BAM Projects BSC, Ibom BSC, Jigawa Golden Stars BSC, Niger BSC and defending champions Anambra Warriors BSC.

First Phase Held in Kebbi

The opening phase of the 2026 league season took place earlier in March in Kebbi, where teams began their campaigns with a series of competitive fixtures.

Some of the headline matches included BAM Projects BSC against Jigawa Golden Stars BSC, while 2022 champions Kada BSC faced Niger BSC. Kebbi Fishers BSC also battled Ibom BSC as Anambra Warriors BSC started the defence of their title.

Additional fixtures saw Kebbi Fishers BSC take on BAM Projects BSC, Anambra Warriors BSC clash with Kada BSC, and Jigawa Golden Stars BSC face Kada BSC.

Kada BSC Lead Standings

Following the completion of the first phase, former champions Kada BSC emerged as the top-performing side and currently sit at the summit of the standings with 10 points.

The Kaduna-based club hold a six-point advantage over second-placed Kebbi Fishers BSC and BAM Projects BSC ahead of the second phase.

Organisers believe the Kaduna round could play a decisive role in determining the clubs that will advance to the Super Four finals later in the season.

Kebbi Fishers Still Most Successful Club

Kebbi Fishers BSC remain the most successful team in the history of the league, having won three titles in 2021, 2023 and 2024.

Kada BSC claimed the title in 2022, while reigning champions Anambra Warriors BSC lifted their maiden crown in 2025.

The ongoing campaign marks the sixth edition of the Nigeria Beach Soccer League since its establishment in 2021.

Speaking ahead of the Kaduna phase, President of the African Beach Soccer Union and National Coordinator of the league, Mahmud Hadejia, promised fans an exciting spectacle.

According to him, the growing standard of beach soccer in Nigeria continues to attract widespread attention, with participating teams fully prepared for another entertaining round of matches in Kaduna.
