King Mohammed VI reaffirms Morocco's commitment to unity, dialogue, and regional cooperation

His Majesty King Mohammed VI has reaffirmed Morocco’s commitment to a peaceful and dignified resolution of the question of territorial integrity, emphasizing reconciliation, unity, and regional cooperation.

In a Speech to the Nation on Friday evening, the King highlighted Morocco’s readiness to pursue “a solution that preserves the dignity of all parties, with no winner and no loser.”

“Morocco does not brandish these changes as a trophy, nor does it seek to fuel antagonisms or deepen divisions,” His Majesty stated, underscoring the importance of dialogue and mutual respect.

The Sovereign extended a heartfelt call to “our brothers in the Tindouf camps” to embrace the Autonomy Initiative, which offers the opportunity to “contribute to the management of local affairs, to the development of their homeland, and to the building of their future within a united Morocco.”

Reaffirming his role as guarantor of citizens’ rights, King Mohammed VI stressed equality among all Moroccans, saying, “There is no difference between those who return from the Tindouf camps and their brothers residing in the rest of the national territory.”

The Monarch also extended an invitation to Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune for a “sincere fraternal dialogue” aimed at overcoming past differences and laying the foundation for “new relations based on trust, brotherhood, and good neighborliness.”

His Majesty reiterated Morocco’s commitment to the revival of the Arab Maghreb Union, founded on mutual respect, cooperation, and complementarity among its five member states.

Reflecting on progress in Morocco’s southern provinces, the King expressed gratitude for the sacrifices and steadfastness of the local population, as well as for the contributions of national institutions and diplomatic bodies working toward the country’s territorial integrity.

“We wish to express the pride and esteem We feel for all Our faithful subjects, particularly the inhabitants of our southern provinces, who have always demonstrated their attachment to the sacred symbols of the Nation,” he declared.

Marking the anniversary of the Glorious Green March, His Majesty paid tribute to the Royal Armed Forces, security services, and the families of martyrs who have defended Morocco’s unity and sovereignty.

Concluding his address, the King honored the memory of His Majesty King Hassan II, “the Architect of the Green March,” and all who sacrificed for the nation’s independence and integrity.
