Morocco are world champions in Chile

Morocco’s U-20 World Champions to Receive Royal Reception on King Mohammed VI’s Orders

His Majesty King Mohammed VI has instructed that Morocco’s under-20 national football team, newly crowned World Cup champions in Chile, be honored with a hero’s welcome on Wednesday, October 22.

The Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol, and Chancellery announced in a statement that the royal directive comes in recognition of the team’s “unprecedented historic sporting feat” — a first for Moroccan football at the U-20 level.

As part of the celebration, His Majesty the King will receive the players and officials at the Royal Palace in Rabat before a popular procession is held in their honor.

The victory parade will begin around 6:30 p.m. as the team leaves the Royal Palace, passing through Bab Essoufara and along Avenue Mohammed V, where large crowds are expected to join in national jubilation.

The young Atlas Lions’ triumph in Chile has been widely celebrated across Morocco, marking a new chapter of pride and success in the kingdom’s sporting history.
