NPFL lands $7.5m EuroMatch title sponsorship deal

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) is set for a major commercial boost after securing a new three-year title sponsorship agreement with EuroMatch worth $7.5 million.

The deal, unveiled in Abuja on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, will see EuroMatch become the official title sponsor of Nigeria’s top-flight league, with the competition to be known commercially as the EuroMatch NPFL for the next three seasons.

The partnership is valued at $2.5 million per season, marking a significant step in the league’s efforts to strengthen its commercial appeal and financial structure.

A key feature of the agreement is its direct benefit to the participating clubs. Sixty percent of the sponsorship funds will go to the clubs, with the investment expected to support player wages, welfare and other areas of club development.

The deal arrives on the eve of the 2026/27 NPFL season, which kicks off on Friday when Shooting Stars host Inter Lagos at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan.

EuroMatch brings an international technology and gaming background to the partnership. The Warsaw-based Euromatch Group is a private investment company focused on technology ventures within the global gaming industry. Its portfolio includes EuroMatch, its flagship B2C sportsbook brand, as well as GB2B, its B2B technology division providing gaming platform technology and managed software services to licensed operators.

The group currently holds four gaming licences and continues to expand across regulated international markets.

For the NPFL, the partnership represents more than a new name attached to the league. It provides an opportunity to inject greater commercial value into the competition while improving the financial prospects of clubs and players.

The sponsorship also comes at a crucial time for Nigerian football, with the NPFL seeking stronger visibility, improved club structures and better welfare standards across the domestic game.

With the EuroMatch NPFL set to take centre stage from Friday, the focus will now shift from the announcement to its impact, and whether the $7.5 million partnership can translate into tangible progress on and off the pitch.
