NSC DG Bukola Olopade pulls weight behind Super Sand Eagles to make Nigeria proud against Ghana
National Sports Commission (NSC) Director-General Hon. Bukola Olopade has charged the Super Sand Eagles to give their best and make Nigeria proud as they prepare for the decisive return leg of the 2026 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Ghana in Keta.
Olopade met the national beach soccer team at the airport before their departure to Ghana, offering words of encouragement and urging the players to approach the encounter with determination.
The first leg, played in Kaduna, ended in a 3-3 draw, leaving both teams with everything to play for in Sunday's return fixture.
Speaking to the players before their trip, the NSC Director-General stressed the importance of the encounter against Ghana and encouraged the team to rise to the occasion.
“I wish you guys all the best in Ghana. There is all to play for. You know once it is Ghana, you must die there. You go. Make sure you do us proud.
“When you come back, we will show our appreciations. All the best. Safe journey,” Olopade said.
The Super Sand Eagles will be aiming to secure a positive result in Keta to book their place at the 2026 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations in Senegal.
With the first leg ending in a stalemate, the return fixture presents Nigeria with a crucial opportunity to secure qualification and reward the confidence shown in the team by the NSC leadership.
Olopade's message serves as a rallying call for the players to represent the country with pride and determination in the decisive encounter.
