National Sports Festival: FCT shines at North Central Zonal Elimination, secures multiple slots
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has reaffirmed its dominance in team sports, securing multiple qualifications at the North Central Zonal Eliminations for the 22nd National Sports Festival. The highly competitive event, held in Jos, Plateau State, from February 23 to 28, 2025, saw FCT athletes deliver outstanding performances across various sports.
FCT emerged victorious in key events, clinching first place in football (male), beach volleyball (male and female), handball (male), and abula (male). The territory also secured runner-up positions in basketball (male), handball (female), and beach volleyball (male), further solidifying its reputation as a sporting powerhouse.
Having finished ninth at the last National Sports Festival held in Edo in 2022, FCT is determined to improve its performance on the national stage. With these latest qualifications, the territory has earned multiple slots to represent the North Central Zone at the country’s premier multi-sport event.
