Nimrod hails Customs CG Adeniyi for transforming Nigerian Volleyball after U-18 African title triumph
President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engineer Musa Nimrod, has praised the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), CGC Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, for his unwavering commitment to the growth and development of volleyball in Nigeria.
Nimrod made the commendation following Nigeria's historic victory over Egypt to clinch the 2026 African U-18 Boys' Volleyball Championship in Alexandria on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.
The NVBF President, who also serves as President of the CAVB Beach Volleyball Commission, described CGC Adeniyi as one of the federation's strongest supporters since the inception of his administration.
According to him, the Nigeria Customs Service has played a pivotal role in elevating the standard of volleyball in the country, particularly through its support for the elite volleyball league, which has become more competitive and attractive, creating greater opportunities for players to develop and showcase their talents.
Nimrod also acknowledged the Customs Service's continued backing of Nigeria's national volleyball teams, noting that the support has contributed significantly to the sport's recent successes.
"I want to sincerely thank the Nigeria Customs Service under the leadership of CGC Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, for the tremendous support it has given the Nigeria Volleyball Federation," Nimrod said.
"We will continue to seek the support of the Nigeria Customs Service in the years ahead because the Comptroller-General has remained one of the federation's strongest pillars."
The NVBF President further expressed appreciation to the Customs boss for creating employment opportunities for volleyball players through the Nigeria Customs Service.
"It has been brought to my attention that a significant number of volleyball players have been employed by the Nigeria Customs Service," he stated.
"The Nigeria Volleyball Federation is delighted with this development, and we look forward to sustaining and strengthening our partnership with the Service for the continued growth of volleyball in Nigeria."
