OFFICIAL: Djurgarden complete signing of Nigerian winger on five-year deal
Swedish Allsvenskan side Djurgarden have announced the signing of highly-rated Nigerian winger Angelo Agbejoye from Grassrunners FC, making him the club's first acquisition of the summer transfer window.
The 18-year-old has signed a five-year contract that will keep him at the Stockholm-based club until 2031, underlining Djurgarden's long-term commitment to his development.
Agbejoye arrives in Sweden after attracting interest from several prominent European clubs, including Premier League giants Manchester City. However, Djurgarden's sustained scouting efforts and long-standing relationship with the player ultimately proved decisive in securing his signature.
A left-footed attacker who is most effective on the right flank, Agbejoye is regarded as one of Nigeria's most exciting young prospects. He has already linked up with his new teammates and completed his first training session on Tuesday.
Speaking to the club's official website after completing the move, the teenager expressed his delight at joining Djurgarden.
"I am very happy and grateful to be here," Agbejoye said.
Describing his playing style, he added: "My main strengths are speed, attack, finesse, scoring goals and making crucial passes, creating chances and, in short; winning."
The move represents a significant step in the youngster's career as he embarks on his first European adventure with one of Sweden's most respected clubs.
For the remainder of the 2026 season, Agbejoye will wear the number 26 jersey for Djurgarden.
