Nigeria defender Shukurat Oladipo started for AS Roma as the Italian side opened their 2026/27 UEFA Women’s Champions League campaign with a goalless draw against Belgian champions OH Leuven on Wednesday.

 The encounter at the King Power at Den Dreef Stadion in Leuven saw Oladipo named in Roma’s starting XI, with the Nigerian international deployed in central defence as Gianpiero Piovani’s side began their European campaign away from home.

 Oladipo played the full 90 minutes plus stoppage time, helping Roma keep a clean sheet as both teams struggled to find the breakthrough.

 Fellow Super Falcons forward Rinsola Babajide started the game on the bench before coming on at the beginning of the second half, replacing Alice Corelli as Roma sought to add more attacking threat.

 Roma created several opportunities after the restart but were unable to find a winning goal, with OH Leuven also holding firm to secure a share of the points.

 The result gives both sides one point from their opening league-phase fixture of the Champions League.

 For Oladipo, the full-match appearance represents a positive start to her European campaign and another opportunity to gain valuable experience at the highest level of women’s club football.

 Babajide, meanwhile, made her first appearance of the new Champions League campaign after being introduced at the interval, ensuring both Super Falcons players featured in Roma’s opening European outing.
