Osun FA to host NFF/CAF D License Coaching Course with Austin Eguavoen, Terry Eguaoje

The Osun State Football Association has concluded arrangements to host the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Confederation of African Football (CAF) D Licence Coaching Course as part of its efforts to improve the knowledge and capacity of grassroots football coaches in the state.

The programme is designed to equip participants with modern coaching techniques and expose them to contemporary methods of football instruction, while preparing them for professional development in line with national and continental standards.

In a major boost to the initiative, the Osun FA has secured the participation of NFF Head of Technical Department, Austin Eguavoen, and Head of Coaching Education, Dr. Terry Eguaoje, who will lead the technical sessions.

Their involvement is expected to enrich the course, giving participants the opportunity to learn from leading figures in Nigeria’s football technical and coaching education system.

Speaking on the initiative, Osun FA Chairman, Mayor Sola Fanawopo, said the programme would help coaches improve their capacity and adopt modern coaching methods.

Fanawopo described the CAF D Licence as an important pathway to higher coaching qualifications, stressing that it is essential for coaches seeking to advance their careers.

He urged local coaches to take advantage of the opportunity and make the most of the training.

The course will take place at Lanreleke Sports Academy in Ile-Ogbo, with activities scheduled to commence on Wednesday, October 28. The academy’s sporting facilities are expected to provide a suitable environment for both theoretical lessons and practical sessions.

A total of 40 registered and screened participants will take part in the programme.

The Osun FA has assured participants, instructors and other stakeholders of a well-organised and impactful course, reaffirming its commitment to grassroots football development and the continuous improvement of coaching education across the state.
