Tanzania reportedly schedule 2pm kick off for AFCON 2027 Qualifier match with Nigeria
Tanzania have reportedly scheduled their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying return-leg clash against Nigeria for 2:00 p.m. on November 17, 2026.
The Taifa Stars are expected to host the Super Eagles four days after the first leg, which is scheduled for November 13 in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The reported afternoon kick-off could pose an additional challenge for Nigeria, particularly the team’s Europe-based players, with the possibility of intense heat in Tanzania potentially influencing the encounter.
Reports suggest that the timing could expose the Super Eagles to scorching afternoon temperatures. However, there is no official confirmation that the kick-off time was deliberately chosen to put Nigeria at a disadvantage.
Nigeria will be looking to secure a positive result on home soil in Uyo before travelling to Tanzania for the return fixture.
The two matches are expected to play a crucial role in determining both teams’ chances of qualifying for the 2027 AFCON.
However, the reported 2:00 p.m. kick-off time and suggestions surrounding the potential impact of the heat remain unconfirmed officially.
