Vice President Kashim Shettima declares 2024 National Sports Festival open

 

 

The highly anticipated 22nd National Sports Festival, known as the 'Gateway Games 2024', officially commenced in Ogun State yesterday, following several months of delays.

 

Initially planned for November 2024, the festival faced unexpected challenges that resulted in its postponement first to January 2025, and ultimately to the confirmed dates of May 16th to 30th.

With the schedule now established, the excitement is palpable. Vice President Kashim Shettima inaugurated the games amidst a lively celebration, marking the start of two weeks filled with fierce competition and a grand display of athletic talent, cultural richness, and national solidarity.

Ogun State is making every effort to ensure this edition is truly remarkable.

The performances by renowned artists Davido and Asa electrified the audience, enhancing the festive spirit and setting an exhilarating tone for the days ahead.
