2026 BSAFCON Qualifiers: Ghana vs Nigeria qualification scenarios

Nigeria’s beach soccer national team will face their counterparts from Ghana in a decisive second-leg encounter on Sunday in Keta, with a place at the 2026 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (BSAFCON) in Senegal at stake.

The two West African rivals played out an entertaining 3-3 draw in the first leg on Saturday, leaving the qualification tie finely balanced ahead of the return fixture.

The winner of the return leg after the regulation three periods will secure qualification for the 2026 BSAFCON in Senegal.

Nigeria will also qualify if the match ends in a draw with a score higher than 3-3, as the away side would have scored more goals across the two legs under the applicable qualification rules.

If the teams play out another 3-3 draw, the tie will proceed to extra time and, if necessary, a penalty shootout to determine the winner.

The stakes are therefore clear for both teams: victory will guarantee a place at the continental championship, while the outcome of a drawn match will depend on the aggregate score and the applicable tie-breaking rules.

At the final whistle in Keta in Sunday, either Nigeria or Ghana will celebrate qualification for the 2026 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations in Senegal.
