Alex and Grace Izinyon Foundation raises 10 million Naira for cancer care through Pink Motion 2025

The Alex and Grace Izinyon Foundation (AGIF) has successfully concluded Pink Motion 2025: Every Step, Every Swing — a month-long national fundraiser that combined running, walking, and golf to raise ₦10 million in support of cancer awareness, treatment access, and survivor empowerment in Nigeria.

The initiative, which ran throughout October 2025 (Pink October), is Nigeria’s first dual-sport charity fundraising campaign of its kind. Participants across the country engaged in symbolic athletic challenges — from distance runs to rounds of golf — to show solidarity with individuals living with cancer.

Some runners logged over 330 kilometres within the month, while others completed half marathons to raise donations. Notably, one participant mobilised more than ₦1.2 million in personal pledges toward the Foundation’s Cancer Support Fund, which provides financial assistance to low-income patients and supports advocacy and survivor engagement.

As part of the Pink Motion campaign, AGIF hosted the Pink Motion Charity Golf Kitty at Parkland Golf and Resorts, Abuja. Golfers turned out in pink attire to compete on the par-3 course, using the sport as a platform for advocacy.

Players were scored using a modified stableford points system, while special recognitions celebrated not just sporting performance but also generosity — including awards for Best Fundraiser and Best Dressed in Pink.

The campaign concluded with the Pink Motion Gala Night on October 31, 2025, also at Parkland Golf and Resorts. The event brought together over 50 golfers, runners, survivors, sponsors, medical advocates, and supporters for an evening of reflection, storytelling, and recognition of impact.

The Pink Motion project forms part of the 7th annual House of Grace (HOG) Project, created in honour of the late Barr. Mrs. Grace Izinyon, co-founder of AGIF. Her legacy of compassion and service remains at the heart of the programme, which has directly impacted more than 2,000 individuals since inception.

“We asked people to move with purpose this October — every kilometre, every swing, and every act of giving,” said Ms. Praise Izinyon, President/CEO of AGIF. “We saw run clubs doing over 806 km, someone reaching her personal best, and even strangers from England and Nigeria pledging funds so that others could receive care. This is what community looks like.”

The 2025 edition was supported by key partners, including IzyAir Ltd and Alex Izinyon & Co., alongside other contributors who provided in-kind services to ensure the campaign’s success.

Since its founding, the Alex and Grace Izinyon Foundation has reached more than 6,200 beneficiaries across 29 Nigerian states, working through four pillars — Health Services, Education, Poverty and Inequity Alleviation, and Youth Empowerment.

The Foundation continues to welcome donations toward its Cancer Support Fund, ensuring that cancer survivors and patients most in need receive the assistance and visibility they deserve.
