Ademola Lookman’s standoff with Atalanta has hit another flashpoint ahead of their UEFA Champions League blockbuster against PSG.

The Super Eagles winger has been at loggerheads with the club all summer, pushing for a move to a bigger side and even going on strike for over two weeks. Despite his protests, Atalanta stood firm, refusing to sanction a transfer.

Captain Marten de Roon has now weighed in, admitting the situation is tense as the 27-year-old struggles to reintegrate into the squad. Lookman was expected to feature against Lecce last weekend, but coach Ivan Juric questioned his mentality and left him out, later criticizing him despite a convincing 4–1 win.

And now the biggest blow yet, Atalanta have confirmed that Lookman will not make the trip to Paris for their Champions League clash at Parc des Princes.
