CAF confirms Lagos, Nigeria as host of 2026 CAF Awards
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that the 2026 CAF Awards will take place on Monday, December 7, in Lagos, Nigeria.
The announcement comes as Nigeria is also set to host the CAF Ordinary General Assembly on Saturday, November 21, 2026, as part of CAF’s official calendar of activities.
According to a statement issued by CAF, the dates were confirmed following a virtual meeting of the CAF Executive Committee chaired by CAF President, Dr. Patrice Motsepe, on Friday, October 2, 2026.
The annual CAF Awards will bring together prominent figures from across African football as the continent’s football governing body celebrates outstanding players, coaches and other key contributors to the development of the game.
The Executive Committee also approved the CAF Competitions Calendar for the 2026–2030 period, providing Member Associations, clubs and other stakeholders with greater certainty in planning for competitions and football-related events.
With the dates now confirmed, preparations will intensify ahead of the CAF Ordinary General Assembly in November, before the spotlight shifts to Lagos for the 2026 CAF Awards in December.
